About the Children’s Ministry
At Wesley Methodist Church, Houston Society, we believe that children are a vital part of God’s kingdom and that investing in their spiritual growth is one of the most important things we can do. Our Children’s Ministry is dedicated to helping kids develop a personal relationship with Christ, teaching them to live out their faith confidently wherever they go.
Society’s mission is to grow our kids to own their faith in the Wesleyan Way. We aim to guide children in understanding who Jesus is, what it means to follow Him, and how to live as examples of His love in their daily lives.
Teaching the Wesleyan Way
We are passionate about educating children about Christ in the rich tradition of the Methodist faith. Through scripture, prayer, and worship, we provide a foundation that helps kids not just learn about Jesus but experience His love and presence in their lives.
Our teaching approach is interactive and fun, blending Bible stories, music, hands-on activities, and games to make learning about God exciting and engaging. At the same time, we emphasize the core values of the Wesleyan tradition, like holiness, love, and serving others.
Helping Kids Grow in Faith
The Children’s Ministry is designed to help kids connect with God and build strong foundations of faith that will guide them for a lifetime. Through Sunday School, and children’s worship services, we focus on:
- Biblical Learning: Teaching kids how to apply God’s Word in their lives and make faith-based decisions.
- Serving Others: Showing them the joy and purpose that comes from helping those in need, just as Jesus did.
- Community Building: Creating a safe and supportive space where kids feel loved and encouraged to grow spiritually.
Becoming Like Jesus
We want every child in our ministry to not only know Jesus but to reflect His love and character in everything they do. Whether it’s at home, school, or in the community, we encourage them to live in a way that points others to Christ through kindness, compassion, honesty, and service.
At Houston Ghanaian Wesley Methodist Church, we are committed to walking alongside our children as they grow into who God has called them to be. Together, we are raising the next generation of leaders who will live out their faith boldly and share the love of Jesus wherever life takes them.
